CIS Hypocrisy

I've lurked long enough.

I have both a Prodigy account and a Compuserve account. On Prodigy, there is a
tool allowing you determine whether or not you want "junk mail." It's not
hidden, or hard to find -- it's simply a choice you're provided with. A piece
of junk will slip through now and again, but for the most part, the only mail
you receive is from other correspondents.

Why is it that CompuServe cannot employ a similar device? Why do they feel THEY
need to decide what I get and don't get. This has become a sore spot with me --
and perhaps I should just dump CIS and stick with Prodigy.
