I just read in the latest Publishers Weekly that there will be a new
AOL/Web venture called iVillage.

I'd like to know if anyone else has info on the project because I know (or
at least knew) the president of the company, Nancy Evans, who has been
editor-in-chief of Book-of-the-Month Club, president of Doubleday, and
editor-in-chief of the magazine Family Life.

The CEO will be Candice Carpenter, former president of Q2 shopping network
and former president of Time Life Video and Telvision. The other person
involved is Elaine Rubin, former senior vp for interactive marketing at
1-800-FLOWERS.

The article said that content and message boards will center around
parenting, work, health and fitness, dating and mating, and food. The first
magaaine, Parent Soup, will be out in January.

AOL is a major investor and revenue is to come from advertisers and aite
sales of related-products such as books.

Anyone have Nancy's or iVillage's e-mail address?
