Let me be devil's advocate: I've gone to plenty of trade shows where they
say, "Can I send you more info?" I say, "Yes" and hand them my embossed
card which they press into a carbon thingee.

So, yeah, for things i'm interested in I would register at a exhibition
stand (not for a brochure, mind you). In the Net world, when the
"pre-embossed badge" becomes a real thing -- like I/Pro's I/Code system --
and widespread, they'll be less concern or thought about this.
