I think we already have positive option mailing lists. It's called USENET.

But positive option mailing list implies that a person (receiver) has the=
=20
level of awareness and presence of mind to know that he/she would be=20
interested in subjective matter on the "list".=20

Subject matter is viewed subjectively and the relative value of ideas=20
communicated on the list vary person to person.

As an example, sometimes during my reading I locate ideas of great value=20
which I had no way of knowing about due to my rather limited perspective=20
of the world (one head to think with, two eyes to see with, two ears to=20
listen with, one nose to smell with, one tongue to taste with, two=20
hands to feel with and 24 hours in a day in one geographic location at a=20
time.)

"Exterior intervention", that is someone else willfully inserting new ideas=
=20
and "subject matter" into my world, enriches my life in ways that I=20
cannot imagine. Its always a problem to sort through the clutter and=20
decide what is of value and what isn't. (One man's clutter is another=20
man's riches) But in order to make that determination first I must read=20
and absorb all messages sent to me.

The consumer, who has the same limitations, doesn't want to decode=20
anything. She just wants to know if this is going to help her or not?
She also realizes that opening oneself up to "exterior intervention" is=20
sometimes the best way to make a decision. She will be open to pleasant=20
interaction.=20

Pleasant "exterior intervention" into her world will be regarded as an=20
opportunity to enrich her life in ways that she cannot imagine. The=20
question is how to make this experience pleasant? Soft glowing visual=20
graphics, humorous interactive verbal exchanges, melodious calming=20
sounds, and when we can engineer a way, pleasing aromas, warm and fluffy=20
tactile phenomenon?

Comments, observations, disparaging remarks?
