So what's "new"? Anyone who's been here less time than (_insert your name
here_) has?

You might as well argue with gravity--people with less Internet experience
than you probably already make up the bulk of the Net population, and I
don't think many will care very much about claims of seniority.

I think we're talking about judgement here, not experience. There are some
things that are going to work well in Internet marketing, and others that
are going to fail miserably--but neither case is going to happen because of
restrictive coercion.

I think guidelines, fair practice standards and peer pressure are great--I
just have a few problems with an Internet Advertising Police Force. And if
it turns out that one _is_ really needed, I'm afraid none of us are going to
have much say in how it's implemented. The minute something like this ends
up in the courts, there's going to be a lot of people in pinstripe suits
trying to make the rules.
